In Sapporo, where the Toyohira River flows, I was born.
A solitary inn in the mountains of the hot spring source, upstream of the river.
The sounds of the forest resonate - the croaking of frogs, the chirping of birds, the faint voices of insects,
The river always serving as a basso continuo, enveloping these sounds.
Being there, seeing, hearing, the happiness of being in that world.

Born in Sapporo in 1955.
Living in Sapporo. Due to my father's transfer, I lived in Monbetsu, Kushiro, and Hiroo.
Graduated from Hokkaido University of Education special art course.
As an artist, I am conscious of the northern country where I was born and raised.
I mainly produce abstract works that evoke images of forests and water.
I also create works that highlight the wonders of everyday life by filing things that are consumed every day.
The two things seem separate, yet they overlap. Forests and water may appear in files.
